 Only students with science background can take entry in Biotechnology. 

As biotechnology is a specialized field, entry into this field mostly happens at the postgraduate level. But a few institutions have started undergraduate courses as well. Only students with science background can take entry in this field; they must have studied biology, chemistry, physics or agriculture subjects at their 10+2 level and undergraduate level to pursue postgraduate programmes. Biotechnologists with an engineering background always have an edge over others in the industry. For admission into the undergraduate programmes, science subjects at 10+2 level are asked for.
